Horrible Bosses was being projected as one of the hit movies of the summer. Released on July 8th, 2011, it grosses $28.1 million over it's opening weekend, which is behind Bad Teacher but ahead of Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Directed by Seth Gordon, this film is a dark comedy with a star-studded cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, and Jason Sudeikis. With Anison, Farrell, and Spacey acting as horrible bosses that bring the heat in their own ways, whether it's sexual harassment, cocaine-induced craziness, or back-stabbing, money-making plots, they're all impossible to work for. That's why three friends, with the help of Foxx, plot to kill each other's bosses. They make blunder after blunder while they're trying to do so, which serves as the main plot-line for the movie, and in the end, although the bosses aren't necessarily dead, they all end up with much better working situations.
Since WadidoLA is always in the know, we've seen and reviewed Horrible Bosses for you. Horrible Bosses' outrageous plot begs for it to be compared to movies like The Hangover, Super Bad, and Bridesmaids, but sadly, it doesn't measure up. Sure, there are jokes and scenes that will make you grin, maybe even chuckle out loud, but the story progression is predictable and the ending anti-climactic. While it's worth seeing for a few cheap laughs, each actor/actress seems to have had better performances, especially Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Foxx. Farrell was really the only piece of the movie that was genuinely funny, and it was disappointing that he appeared so infrequently. WadidoLA gives Horrible Bosses a luke-warm review, but in the end, it's up to you to decide for yourself! After you see it, give us your thoughts in the comment box!
