The Groundlings is a 30-member comedy troupe established in 1974 based on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. They're a non-profit organization that specialize in improv and sketch comedy theatre. A testimony to how hilarious The Groundlings are can be seen in their famous alumni, including Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman, Lisa Kudrow, and Kathy Griffin. The Groundlings is scouting ground for SNL and their shows are sold-out every day of the week.
Members of the troupe write and perform a new sketch show every three months and these shows run every Friday at 8 p.m. and every Saturday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Other nights of the week the troupe performs some of their most popular older shows. The Groundlings is a great way to enjoy the holidays as well! Throughout December, The Groundlings will be performing a holiday show. It's the perfect night out with family and friends to laugh and get in the holiday spirit. The Groundlings location on Melrose is perfect, too.
