The world was shocked when news surfaced that the great, Whitney Houston, passed away Saturday morning in a room at the Beverly Hills Hotel. She was only 48. Houston was set to preform there at the pre-Grammy party hosted by music mogul Clive Davis. The cause of death is still unknown.
Many stars, including Mariah Carey and Aretha Franklin, have expressed their grief over the loss of such a talented artist. Whitney struggled with almost a decade long fight with substance abuse. She had released an album in 2009, creating a comeback after several stints in rehab and a divorce.
Jennifer Hudson is due to perform one of Houston's song at tonight's Grammys as a tribute to the star.
