Whitney The Make-Up Artist

Meet Whitney, she's a Freelance Make-up artist from NYC. Since we know a lot of you love looking your best we sat down and asked her a few questions about her craft.


Who have you had the most fun working with? 
I've worked with females of all ages, they've all been super dope to work with and are all unique in their own ways so I couldn't pick just one.


How does it feel to make some one beautiful? 
It honestly has to be one of the best feelings in the world and its 1 of the main reasons I love what I do. That look in their face once I've completed their make-up and they look at themselves in the mirror is truly indescribable. I absolutely love the fact that I can boost a woman's self-esteem and make them feel absolutely gorgeous with just a touch of make-up.

Number one make up tip? 
Less is more. Sometimes a little mascara, eyeliner, and gloss is all it takes.

What look is hot this summer? 
Nothing but bright and funky lip colors (ie. oranges, reds, pinks, even yellow!), bold lashes, and bronzers are a must for those summer tans.

What should be in every girls make up bag?
Mascara, blush/bronzer, and a nude lipstick/gloss.

Why do you do it, why does this make you happy?
Ever since I was a child I was always into art. My parents wouldn't buy me dolls, they would buy me art supplies. As I grew older I knew I wanted to do something that involved art I just didn't know which route to take with it. When I became a teenager I would play around with my mother's make-up and I was just naturally good at it. One day it hit me that make-up artistry was just my "thing" so I continued to do it. When I'm working on someone I get in my zone and everything becomes nonexistent, its when I'm most at peace and that's why I'm in love with what I do.
