Planking: A Trend Worth Following?

Planking, also known as the lying-down-game, has become a very odd fad around the globe this year. This game consists of someone lying face-down, seemingly the more unusual the location the better, having a photo taken of them, and then having this photo posted on the Internet. Oh, the many uses of the Internet.

Some consider planking to be a fun, and even addicting, new way to take pictures. They love coming up with new places to "plank", taking pictures of it, and gaining a certain level of celebrity among others who like to "plank". Planking is definitely a fun fad for some.

Bus is a fad all it is? Others criticize planking because they believe it's a practice that used to be used on slaves, when their arms were bound to their waist and they were forced to remain in, and sleep, in this plank position. Others don't respect the fad for more immediate reasons. Because the people participating in this fad strive to photograph planks in as unusual, amazing, and awe-inspiring places as they can, there's a certain level of danger for the person being photographed. Recently, a man in Australia, fell from a seven-story high apartment balcony when his friend was attempting to photograph him "planking" from below.
