Visiting Toronto or moving to the city? We’re waiting for you. There’s so much to see and do, I only have time to mention a few upcoming events.
Sunday June 19th, visit Bloor-Yorkville for their free celebration of the Bloor St Transformation Project. A 1 kilometer strip of red carpet will make it easy to find and you can enjoy exotic cars, celebrity appearances and sample stations. http://www.bloor-yorkville.com/celebrate-bloor/
Happening now until June 19th is Luminato. Luminato includes a number of different genre’s including: theatre, dance, music events, visual arts, literature, etc. There’s really something for everyone and free events as well. To view the free event schedule, and other information, visit: http://www.luminato.com/2011/free
CN Tower EdgeWalk. Yes, you read that correctly…. Not for the faint of heart, this is your chance to take a stroll 116 storeys’ high on the edge of the CN Tower. If you’re unsure how high that is, think 356 meters or 1,168 feet above the ground…and all for $175. For more information, visit their website: http://www.edgewalkcntower.ca/.
Ontario Place has free admission this summer. There is only a fee if you’re interested in rides or attractions. And, if your birthday falls on any day that Ontario Place is open (like me….July 17), show your ID and you’ll receive a free all day pass. http://www.ontarioplace.com/
Should you decide to forego our cabs and transit, we now have BIXI bikes that can be used for mini trips around the city (first 30 minutes of each trip is included) and you can purchase a 24 hour access or 72 hour access to use during your visit. https://toronto.bixi.com/ LoriAnn Toplak is a REALTOR® in Toronto and Etobicoke.
