Boy shorts, hipsters, bikinis, g-strings, thongs, hanky pankys, seamless, spanx, etc. Today, a girl has more panty options than ever before. Not only can this make choosing your most intimate layer fun, but it's practical. There's now a panty style that works under every outfit imaginable. Unsightly panty lines are a thing of the past. But, when it comes to choosing, how do you know which is best for you?
In general, thongs are the safest bet. With how often every girl wears leggings, yoga pants, and Lulu Lemon nowadays, any panties that even have a chance of showing a line are unacceptable. That's not attractive, girls. And it's just way too much information. Make sure the view of the derriere is smooth. However, there is one instance in which caution needs to be taken with a thong: miniskirts. With all the bodycon dresses and tight skirts in style today, I feel like I've seen way too many ass cheeks. It's easy to not realize your skirt is riding up a bit, and before you know it, everyone at the party is pointing and whispering behind your back. That's not the reputation you want. So, make sure your skirt will stay firmly in place, and, if necessary, you might need to opt for boy shorts that night.
Moreover, Spanx have become increasingly popular. For girls who are a little more curvy, but still want to wear the trendy tight styles, Spanx are a lifesaver. They smooth over any bumps or lumps, and trim a couple extra pounds off. They're the perfect confidence booster. However, my one warning when wearing Spanx: make sure you're going home alone. Spanx aren't the cutest undergarment choice. Plus, they can take a little bit of effort to get off. And, due to the sheer ignorance of men, you're likely to get the question: "What are those?" An awkward answer is imminent.
Finally, is the classic bikini-style panty. Typically the most comfortable, this is a great panty for when you're just hanging out, when you're going to bed, or when you're wearing something that won't show lines: such as sweatpants or thick jeans. Not typically deemed the sexiest style, but hey, we're not entitled to be sexy all the time. We all need our comfy moments. Embrace them. Enjoy them.
