wLA: How and when did you first get into photography?
DT: Last september was when I got "into" it, but I've only been seriously pursuing it for the last six months or so, since I started the 365 project.
wLA: What type of photography do you usually do?
DT: I do a lot of conceptual portraiture. It's an awesome feeling being able to translate ideas into photos.
wLA: What would you describe your artistic and photographic style as?
DT: My artistic/ photographic style is categorized by conceptual ideas put into photographic form. A lot of my images sway towards having a timeless style and feel.
wLA: Are you currently working on any new projects?
DT:Right now I am working on a 365 - A challenge to take a conceptual self-portrait every day for an entire year. This is really the first (and biggest) photography project I have taken on, and although it can be a pain between school, social life, and sleep, I love it more than anything. I have no idea what I'll do with myself when it's done!
wLA: What are some of your hobbies?
DT:My hobbies include playing guitar and singing, drawing, long boarding, hiking, surfing, and exploring. Taking photos is at the top of that list, however!
wLA: How do you like to spend your free time?
DT: I hardly have any "free time" anymore. The 365 takes up so much of it. Whenever I get any of it, though, I usually hang out with my friends and try to keep some sort of social life. Haha.
wLA: What would you tell some one that is just getting into photography?
DT: For someone that is just getting into photography, I would say to lose all of your inhibitions. Don't let anything, and I mean ANYTHING hold you back from being the photographer, artist, and person you desire to be.
