| This guy stole your laptop |
Being a victim of theft is one of the worst feelings ever. That goes for any type of theft, the worst probably being your personal laptop that you spend hours on end on. The shock of having hundreds, sometimes thousands, of personal documents, pictures, videos etc., in the hands of again, can be insurmountable.
However, one lucky guy was able to use an app to locate his stolen laptop. The app is called Hidden, and it allows the user to discretely take a snap-shot using the camera on the laptop, as well as capture anything that appears on the laptop screen, from another device. More importantly, it will send out a GPS signal, so you can pinpoint the location of the computer.
The victim started a Tumblr as the basis of his campaign to get his laptop back. Although he had pictures of the thief, as well as a Google I.D. to trace him, the local law enforcement still needed more evidence to make an arrest. Eventually, the police were able to apprehend the thief and return the laptop.
And, in the end, this incident showed the world a bad a$% way to spy on a laptop thief and get your computer back. It's great knowing your not at a complete loss when your laptop/lablet is stolen. Apps aren't all fun and games; this one is a laptop savior!
