With school right around the corner, I’d be dragging my feet, doing the regular before school preparations, trying to prolong my summer and delay the beginning of school. This summer break however was definitely out of familiarity to me. The past year at LMU was, as cliché as it sounds, the best year of my life. I met people who I am closer to now than I have been with anyone else in all of my Kindergarten to High School years. So usually at the end of the school year I am completely ready to begin summer and just relax, but I found myself bored out of my mind this whole entire summer.

4-3-2-1 RULE
College is place where you meet people who share similar goals and interests. So it is safe to say that a lot of people find their soulmates in college. But when you think about it, are relationships nowadays truly based off of finding the right person? Or is it merely based off of what he or she has to offer?
Here is where the 4-3-2-1 rule comes into place. This rule pretty much sums up why a lot of college students today get into relationships. If a person has 4 wheels they are more likely to be mobile than someone without means of transportation. Someone with 3 letters (meaning greek) is well known and has a lot to offer when it comes to being social on campus. Someone with 2 numbers is on a team of some sort and will boosts one's popularity if seen with him or her. And to top it all off, someone with 1 key has a place of their own which shows superiority over people who still live on campus.

Even though these rules are superficial, it does not take away from the fact that it is reality. Not every relationship nowadays is so innocent. People come into relationships for ulterior reasons. So it is always good to consider that one's like for you is not always genuine and that he or she may just be looking for their next come up.
