Kobe vs. Jordan

Wether you love or hate him, there’s only one other player that can realistically be compared to Michael Jordan: Kobe Bryant. And that opinion is from Jordan himself.

Ever since Michael Jordan has retired, many have tried to find the hier to his throne. From Harold Miner to Jerry Stackhouse to Vince Carter even, many players have became pretenders to that throne.

Blake Griffin dunks on Kendrick Perkins

Kendrick Perkins never had a chance going up against Blake Griffin. Add this one to the impressive resume of jaw-dropping dunks thrown down by Blake Griffin. This one will simply be known as "The Dunk of The Year!".

Why Lamar Odom had to go

The Los Angeles Lakers made a three-team trade with the Rockets and Hornets early Friday to possibly bring PG Chris Paul to LA, but was rejected by the NBA.

The three teams decided Saturday to meet again to renegotiate a new trade, hoping it would get approved by the NBA this time around. Surprisingly, the trade wasn’t for Chris Paul or Dwight Howard, whom the Lakers have been attempting to acquire, as well.

David Stern cancels trade

Once again the NBA proves how broken of a system it is, and once again makes all of us question the motives of the NBA.

After a huge three team deal with New Orleans, Houston, and Los Angeles, which would trade Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom for Chris Paul, sending Odom to the Hornets, and Gasol to the Rockets, David Stern called it off.

NBA 2K12 locked out season or not

Michael Jordan, Mark Cuban, Drake, Brian Wilson and others debate over what the greatest NBA team of all time is. Is it the Mavs? Lakers? Celtics? Jordan's Bulls?

NBAOffSeason.com

NBAOffSeason.com, in their own words, is "chronicling any and everything before, during, and after the NBA season". That about sums it up. They're an awesome blog that posts videos, pictures, and quotes that keep you up-to-date on what your favorite players, coaches, and teams are doing in their off-time. For any basketball fan, NBA Off Season should be an automatic read. And, you should follow them on Twitter for updates. If you really like them, check out their line of shirts here. Not a basketball fan? But a baseball fan? Then check out MLB Off Season. Not a baseball fan either? But you're a football fan? That's why there's NFL Off Season.

NBA 2K12

Day 20 of the NBA lockout couldn't keep back the release of the NBA 2K12 cover. The cover features Magic Johnson, whose legacy is deeply embedded with the Los Angeles Lakers. If this 2K is as good as last year's 2K, which had Michael Jordan on the cover, it will definitely be a must-buy. Showtime!

The Knee is looking good, says Kobe Bryant's 360 dunk

Kobe throws down a 360 dunk at his annual Kobe Academy being held at UCSB.  Guess the knee is all good and recovered from the platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) therapy he had on his right knee about a month ago in Germany.

Hosting Magic Johnson

For all you basketball fans out there, legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson, on July 30th, is sitting down for a conversation with Los Angeles Times columnist, Bill Plaschke, for a special conversation. Our very own Loyola Marymount University is hosting this awesome event in Gersten Pavilion, which is the LMU Lion's home court. Kicking off at 4 p.m., Magic will be talking about his favorite memories, his current and future plans in business, and his foundation, which is celebrating it's 20th anniversary. The Magic Johnson Foundation works to develop and support programs and organizations that address the educational, health, and social needs of ethnically diverse, urban communities. This is an interview you won't want to miss, and with tickets for only $25 (or All-Star tickets for $75), you have no excuse for missing it! Make your way over to LMU on July 30th.

Kobe and a band of NBA players may be headed to China due to the lockout

The LA Times reported on Saturday that Kobe Bryant, along with about 12-20 other NBA players, may be headed to China to play a tour of games. This report is more likely than not, especially for Kobe, since he has already deemed China his "home away from home", as it should be due to his massive fan following there. With the NBA just starting its lockout, which has no end in sight, who are we to tell unemployed men not to take their talents to China for compensation via the Yen(the currency of China)? If it were to happen, one of the first places Kobe would be stopping is the Mercedez-Benz Arena in Shanghai. Mercedez-Benz has been running a commercial for months featuring the Smart Car, which is owned by Mercedez-Benz.

TRADE RUMOR: PAU GASOL FOR KEVIN LOVE & NO. 2 DRAFT PICK

By Kelly Ouji (@KellysonFIRE)
ESPN.com recently reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves privately hoped that they could possibly find a team who is willing to take their No. 2 draft pick in return for what they would call an “impact veteran”, referencing Pau Gasol, JaVale McGee, or Monta Ellis. (More after the jump)
