Magic Johnson group buys the Dodgers for $2 billion

After months of a ferocious bidding war, out from the rage the Magic Johnson Group wins bid to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The bid ends the tumultuous two years for previous owner Frank Mccourt, who recently fell on hard times due to a divorce and bankruptcy.  Now that the Dogders have been sold, McCourt will be able to pay off his $950 million debt. As well as sustain his standing as a very wealthy man. He looks to walk away with close to $1B as well as ownership to land around the Dodger Stadium. Likely to see restaurants and other like shops. Dodgers have become the most valuable sports team in the U.S. sold for approximately $2 Billon dollars.

Sports in Stilettos

Blond, gorgeous, fashionable, and into sports? Yes, I'm describing every guy's dream, but I'm also describing Justine Hendricks. This 25-year-old lives in Baltimore, Maryland, and went to school at Washington College, which is also in Maryland. Justine works in digital communications for a PR agency by day, but she moonlights as a full-time freelance sports blogger. She has her own sports blog, Sports in Stilettos, but also covers USC football for isportsweb and is on the ACC blogging team for Scout.com's CollegeFootballNews.com. With so many projects going on, WadidoLA feels very lucky that Justine took the time to answer some questions for us!

The Lingerie Basketball League hit Venice Beach this past Saturday, (July 23rd). They came, the saw, and they looked great while playing hard in their team-synchronized lingerie. Here are some stills of what you missed, as well as game dates after the jump.

Special thanks goes out to #12, from the LA Starlets, Bri Dryden! Bri is the youngest player in the league, as well as a friend of wadidoLA. Off the court, Bri is a model, yoga instructor, and a talented portrait artist. Wish her and the rest of her team good luck with her season!

The Knee is looking good, says Kobe Bryant's 360 dunk

Kobe throws down a 360 dunk at his annual Kobe Academy being held at UCSB.  Guess the knee is all good and recovered from the platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) therapy he had on his right knee about a month ago in Germany.

Hosting Magic Johnson

For all you basketball fans out there, legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson, on July 30th, is sitting down for a conversation with Los Angeles Times columnist, Bill Plaschke, for a special conversation. Our very own Loyola Marymount University is hosting this awesome event in Gersten Pavilion, which is the LMU Lion's home court. Kicking off at 4 p.m., Magic will be talking about his favorite memories, his current and future plans in business, and his foundation, which is celebrating it's 20th anniversary. The Magic Johnson Foundation works to develop and support programs and organizations that address the educational, health, and social needs of ethnically diverse, urban communities. This is an interview you won't want to miss, and with tickets for only $25 (or All-Star tickets for $75), you have no excuse for missing it! Make your way over to LMU on July 30th.

Are The Lakers In Trouble?

source: ESPN.com
By Woody Liu
The Lakers may need another wake-up call, as if the 2-5 finish in the regular season wasn't already a slap in the face.  With the series tied at two games apiece, between the Lakers and the Hornets, the Lakers are clearly showing just how inconsistently a two-time defending championship team can play in the postseason.  Whether it is because of the 7-foot Spaniard's head stuck up in the clouds, or the lack of a defensive answer for the All-Star point guard Chris Paul, Lakers fans are definitely beginning to worry.

Series Tied at 1

The Lakers and the Hornets head into game 3 tonight with the series tied at 1 win a piece. This will be the first game of the series to take place in New Orleans and the Hornets will look to bounce back from a game 2 defeat. Hopefully our Los Angeles Lakers stop them in their tracks, take the game 3 win, and therefore, have the lead in the series. The game will be televised on KCAL and ESPN. Be sure to tune in for the start at 6:30PM PT!
