She's Just Not That Into You
Lately, I’ve run into the issue of putting my male acquaintances into the well known and often dreaded “friend zone”. If you’ve ever seen the film, “He’s Just Not That Into You,” you might agree that it only really addresses the male aspect of rejection. So for all my single girls who WANT to stay that way for now, I decided to brainstorm a few ways for the ladies to let the boy “friends” off easy…and on the other hand notify the a-holes of the world that no sane girl would touch them with a ten-foot pole.

I believe in my beauty, do you?
I’ve come to realize being beautiful is something you have to believe to be true about yourself. doesn’t matter what you do to change or fix things. because you’ll never be happy always trying to fix things. & don’t get me wrong because change CAN be beautiful as well. But when you can’t take a step back and appreciate yourself and find beauty in something as small as a freckle, nothing will make you happy. because in you’re mind its already programed that, “something needs to be fixed” and once that is your BEIELF something will always need to be fixed.

Material Girl
If you listen to Barrett Strong’s 1959 hit single “Money (That’s What I Want)” - you’ll hear these famously covered lyrics: The best things in life are free/ but you can give them to the birds and bees/ I want money.
Call this materialistic. Call it superficial. Whatever. The people who say “money can’t buy happiness” are full of shit. Having money can and should make everything easier - it’s all about how you use it. The root of unhappiness is people not making the most out of what they have.

From jumps to pumps
Maybe I have grown to love my pumps, heels, wedges, platforms, and stilettos a little too much. Yes, I’m guilty of a shoe obsession, just like almost every other girl in the universe! The way they make me feel and look, the way they shape my body, and the way they drive men crazy are just a few reasons why you will rarely see me in anything else. A tiny part of me blames Sex and the City and their focus on shoes for making my addiction feel acceptable!
As a teenager, I felt the same way about my sneakers as I feel about my heels now. Never did I show up to school or the mall on the weekends without the newest, freshest pair of Jordan’s or Nike Air Max’s! Clean, fly sneakers made me feel cool, and it definitely let me express my fashion sense, especially in middle school where we had to wear uniforms. Yuk! I remember even competing with the boys to see who had the most recent and popular jumps. I’d go as far as making my mom take me to L.A. to buy the hottest new pair so I could make sure I’d walk through my school halls in the latest J’s. I loved getting compliments from the basketball team on my shoes *giggle*.

Tell me I'm Beautiful
That’s easy. People like that are usually hard on themselves because of everything they have to do in order to maintain a certain look, or whatever else they feel is needed to be accepted by society. Both males and females tend to fall into this trap, and in most cases, it leads to many of these people falling into a depression or other health issue. In our society today, looks mean everything. Personally, I feel that a persons intelligence overrides the their looks, and the fact that a person is handsome or beautiful is just a bonus. However, many tend to disagree.

Aaron Feaver is a 32 year-old photographer based in LA, and WadidoLA got a peek into his unique view and style with this interview and some of his favorite photographs.
Q: How and when did you first get into photography?
A: I've liked taking pictures ever since I was a kid, but I only got into taking pictures of people about a year and a half ago.
Q: What type of photography do you usually do?
A: Fashion photography.
Q: What would you describe your artistic and photographic style as?
A: Hmm…someone told me my style is "girl in a field" and I guess that fits.
Q: Do you always shoot in LA? Where are some of your favorite places to shoot?
A: I shoot wherever I am, which is usually in LA. I love traveling and shooting in new places, though. LA has amazing scenery, from the ocean to mountains to desert; it's great. I love shooting up in the canyons above Malibu, or at the beach of course.

What is Attractive?
![]() |
| painting by Kim Roberti |
In my opinion, what people deem as physically attractive varies based on the characteristics that influence one’s initial response to others, the culture a person may come from, and the fact that people’s opinions are largely influenced by society. Because we as humans frequently judge people by the way they look, we also make the mistake of attaching qualities that we feel are good, based only on someone’s physical attractiveness and appearance; which, in turn, creates the stereotype that all physically attractive people have those qualities.
