Rant: The Help

The Help.

In the past three weeks, I have watched The Help at least seven times. It is easily one of my favorite movies. Not only does it combine the south and the sixties, but the lesson is amazing.

RANT: I'm a female gamer

Video games: a virtual escape from reality that at one time, held the interests of only males, whatever their age. Today, in the 21st century, times are beginning to change; a new audience is starting to take interest in games that were once "a man’s game". Yes, I'm talking about females, and no, we don't all play games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Kill Zone, etc. just in an attempt to get guys to want to date us, and no, not all of us are ugly, and no, we don't enjoy getting asked if we're hot or not.

My normal is too weird for you

What exactly is 'normal'? How does 'normal' exist?...I mean, if you take the infinite number of possibilities of situations, thoughts, objects, etc. that someone encounters in a lifetime and ask every human being on earth what they would consider 'normal' in each and every one of those situations, not one person's entire cumulative thought stream of 'normal' would be the same as another. So what fully encompassing definition of 'normal', what scientific measure, what mathematical standard, to what degree can we be justified in labeling something as 'normal?' It seems as if that question just happened to clearly answer itself.

These pesky 15 lbs

Fifteen. Fifteen Pounds. F1fteen Pound5. 15 lbs.

I can probably count on one hand the times I have stepped on a scale in the past several years to learn my own weight. Not because I enjoy being fat or because I am lazy, but because it terrified me. After I got sick in high school, the doctors told me to throw away all of the scales in my house - that the weight gain didn’t matter as long as I was healthy. I agreed, until I returned home from the hospital to discover a horrifying number on the scale. And by horrifying number, I mean five pounds less than I weigh now. I spent two hours crying on the floor of my bedroom. But, I had to agree with the medical professionals, to a certain extent. After all, muscle weighs more than fat. A more accurate way of measuring weight loss is exactly that - measuring. That’s what I’ve done and continue to do when monitoring my size.

The problem with thirst pt. 2

Now, I do not disagree with anything the previous post discussed about todays thirsty women. We all know them, we all see them, the men recognize them, and chances are if you truthfully believe you have never been exposed to the THIRST that we all love to hate, then you probably are the thirst monster herself. Now, the last post was used to explain and define what a thirsty woman is. This is a post to give you men a heads up that you are dealing with a stage five thirsty clinger, and to hopefully knock some sense into the thirsty girls that are unaware of their terrible, terrible desperation.

RANT: Mustaches and me

Okay, so last night I wrote out an entire essay on mustaches and why I love them. I clicked “create post” and SOMETHING WENT WRONG!? Thank you WadidoLA. I appreciate it. I never save anything or remember what I wrote. It just comes to me as I go. So here is my second attempt at telling the world the honest truth about the mustache thing.

The problem with being thirsty

Thirsty
1. Too eager to get something
2. DESPERATE.
3. The act of wanting someone or something more than is necessary
4. horny; wanting sexual satisfaction

We all know that person. That girl who is so desperate that it's more than borderline pathetic. It's demeaning, it's embarrassing, it even creates pity. Being thirsty covers a wide variety of definitions. Someone who is beyond simply interested. A girl who is thirsty for a guy is inferring that she would go to any length to receive whats she wants: a sexual relationship.

RANT: Sickity Sick Sick

*cough* *sniffle* *sniffle* *cough*

Pop, I think I have… the black lung…

Really though. It’s one of those days where I am asking “What the fuck is wrong with me?” It began on Saturday. Friday wasn’t a particularly wild night. We went out in Venice for a friend’s birthday. Stayed up rather late. Got home at 4:30AM. The sleep deprivation probably didn’t help.

First World Problems: The Guest List

Whenever I make the rare decision to throw some kind of event, I always remember why I don’t: the guest list. I’d hate to admit that I am a person who is eager to please - but I will admit that I don’t like pissing people off, or making them feel bad. The guest list wouldn’t be such an issue if I didn’t have such a wide circle of friends.

Rant: My inconsistent life

I can’t stop thinking about how unstable my life has become. That inconsistency is absolutely tearing me apart. I can’t think. I can hardly function. I’m simply drowning in my own thoughts.

Rant: The world, love, and me

Marriage: ”Traditionally” Man and woman date, then marry, after that comes children, and grow old together. “These Days” Boy and Girl live together first or then kids come along , marriage is probably not even an idea, or if it is, then sign a Prenuptial Agreement. You might as well not get married if you’re already thinking about divorce. My “ideal” marriage is to date until I find the right one for me, and then get married, have children, and grow old together. If you get married, make sure he/she is the right one. If you probably think “oh 10 years marriage is a long enough time and then divorce” then dont get married! Find the one you know you will be with till you grow old together.

RANT: Why be Lazy?

In my opinion, most people in this generation are too damn lazy. I hate when I text people and all I get is “Lol, wyd?” or “smh” or “hmu.” It drives me insane. Start actually spelling things out. Instead of “wyd?” say, “What are you up to?” or instead of “hmu” say, “Just call or text me whenever.” It’s annoying how people rely so much on texting, people don’t know how to communicate anymore.

RANT: This generation

Am I just this little 19 year old girl who is “going through a phase?” Am I this 19 year old girl who is “just 19 and needs more growing experience?” Yes, I am 19. No I am not going through this “phase.” I have feelings just like everyone else. There is no need to lie about anything. I don’t do or say things to be “cool.” I haven’t been through it all, but I’ve been through too much for being a young gal.

RANT: Nightlife

As i'm coming off a high, I'm writing this. I recently introduced myself to this social network we all know and love called Twitter. There, I was followed by @wadidoLA, who told me I had dope tweets, and I should write for their site, so, I figured, why not? I'm bored, and I like freelance writing. Plus, I finally get to express myself in more than 140 characters, which brings me to my topic - nightlife . First things first , since when does bumping into me mean you're automatically getting into my pants? Sorry, you're going to have to try a little harder than that.

RANT: Habitual butt grabbers

by M'leesa (@ado_orkable)
What in the world is up with people at the club? Why is it that EVERY TIME I go to the club, either a guy is grabbing my butt, or if I am dancing with someone, they try humping on the dance floor. C'mon ladies. You ALL know what I'm talking about. A guy grabs your waist and starts pulling you back, hard. Now guys, please answer me this. Do you think that's "dancing"? When did dancing become having sex?

RANT: Relationships are "Hella" Whack

by M'leesa (@_ItsMimi)
Someone explain this to me: Why do so many people crave to be in a relationship while they're so young? Think about it. Middle school: "That boy is cute, I want to kiss him". Well, that's what my 12 year old sister says anyway. Middle school is where it starts. Young kids want to play house; it's just a big game for them, which is fine, until they realize it's the beginning of their obsession.
